Available in various formats for diverse applications, the CRJ1000's development was unveiled on February 19th, 2007 as an extended version of the CRJ900 (originally designated CRJ900X), capable of accommodating up to 100 passengers. The aircraft completed its first production flight in Montreal on July 28th, 2009, with an anticipated entry into service during Q1 of 2010. As of March 2014, 70 units have been delivered to airlines, while 36 more remain unfilled.
