Bomb Can US
thingiverse
This is a remake of Turbostars Can Bomb to fit a US 12oz can, using Tinkercad I lengthened it to 138mm. CURA helped me slice the file and print six of them on my Ender 3, all fitting the US can perfectly. To finish them, I sanded with 120 grit on my sand mouse but didn't go crazy about removing all of the lines. Three coats of Krylon Colormaster primer were applied, then sanded lightly with 400 grit. A base coat of Krylon Satin Italian Olive was sprayed on the body and a base coat of Krylon Satin Burgundy on the lid. Painters tape was used to cover the center and Krylon Farm and Implement John Deere Yellow was sprayed on the yellow line. Acrylic aging was done using Burnt Umber and Burnt Sienna, following Adam Savage's video on how to do this. A clear KRYLON was sprayed to lock everything down. Silver Rub N Buff was carefully applied to the sharp edges to give it a worn metal look. Finally, a small amount of PX Marine Pro Epoxy mixed with eBay glow powder was used to fill the Trifoil, which takes about 24 hours to cure before flipping and doing the other side. The glowing Trifoil completely blew my buddies away on our camping trip! It seems like a lot but I did six at the same time so it was like an assembly line.
