BoltHobber - A Hobbed bolt maker - All M8 version
thingiverse
Thank you, Mr. Heinz, for your incredible design! The M8 version of BoltHobber is now complete. Key features include: an M8 tap screw, 608 skate bearings, an M8 adjustment screw and nut, and an M8 hobbed bolt. For assembly, print dense instructions with a 60% honeycomb infill and four perimeters. Required metal components are four 608 bearings, an M8 adjustment screw longer than 50mm and its nut, an M8 hobbed bolt, and an M5 washer or alternative metal piece. Follow these step-by-step instructions: insert the M8 nut into the slide's housing; place the adjustment screw; put both 608 bearings in the base and one internally on the slide; assemble the printed parts according to the provided image; insert the hobbed bolt candidate through the 608 bearings, making necessary measurements for channel distance and adding washers if needed; secure with two M8 nuts; add the remaining 608 bearing on the tap screw body and place it in the slide part; adjust distance/pressure using the top M8 screw; turn the tap screw while monitoring results in a small window; repeat steps until desired depth is reached. Finally, release the adjustment screw, pull out the tap screw, nuts, and slide part. To ensure smooth operation, remove any burrs from the 608 bearings. Enjoy your cost-effective, high-performance hobbed bolt!
