Bolt Hobbing Tool for Lathe
thingiverse
This instrument is designed for crafting M8 hobbing bolts utilizing two 608 bearings that secure an 8mm bolt. The lathe tool holder must be at least 10x10mm in size; it functioned effectively on my Rotwerk EDM350DR machine. To use, print the hobbing tool with high infill and support enabled (limited support needed). Remove supports, insert bearings and bolt, adding spacers if necessary. Secure two nuts at bottom of the bolt to allow rotation. Finally, place in lathe tool holder and hob at 200-400 rpm for M3 or M4 hobs.
