BOLT EV CARGO RAILS (2023)
thingiverse
Designed cargo rails for the 2023 Bolt EV cargo area. Printed in PETG (first non-PLA project), uses the cargo cover elastic hook twist lock points as a mount. Hooks snap on firmly and don't slide too easily on my prints. I'm floored by the flexibility & toughness of this material. One disappointment is the cargo cover laying lower than the rails, I may print another clip to support the back end of the cover and let strings go slack. I installed M4 heat inserts and used (2) M4x10mm for rear and (2) M4x15 mm for front joints. (Now M4 drop-in nuts, see Edit 2 below)Enjoy!Printed on Ender V3 running Klipper w Sprite Upgrade, PEI, DIY enclosure.0.4 Noz/0.2mm Layer ht.Update - added simple cargo cover support brackets to fix my one disappointment above.I added an old Subaru cargo net off two of the hooks and have been throwing all my groceries in, no issues (and I tend to corner hard).Edit 2: Updated the Twist Lock pieces to hold M4 nuts printed in place (heat insert eventually came loose). Nut socket are deep enough for M4 Nylock nuts. Also revised rail to be down-sloped, more direct from socket to socket. The previous 'level' design had a weak elbow. I removed the old files, will update photos shortly. Now printed PETG on Bambu PS1.
