Bolt and nut sizer
thingiverse
Device identifies bolts and nuts by size. It measures SAE sizes from #4 up to 1/2, allowing customization through an OpenSCAD file. One edge has ruler tic-marks for measuring bolt lengths. To populate the device after printing, you will need: (1) a 3/4" x #4 machine screw and (2) a #4 nut for each of #6, #8, #10. Then add: (1) a nut and (1) a bolt each for 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, and 1/2. When adding bolts and nuts, use hot glue or silicone to secure them. Make sure they are in the proper columns as shown in the picture because sometimes the size of a bolt head is different from its matching nut. You can also decorate the device by filling the lettering and ruler tics with caulk of a contrasting color to your plastic. If you print a lettered surface smooth, you can wipe off excess caulk more easily.
