Bolt and Nut Cover Guard
thingiverse
I was in dire need of something to shield the bed frame bolts that were mercilessly piercing my mattress. I swiftly designed this protective guard using Sketchup, hoping someone might find a use for it. Upon experimentation, I discovered that briefly heating the bolt with a lighter resulted in a snug fit when the guard was screwed on, staying securely in place. Initially, I used this solution on a 6 mm bolt and a 14 mm nut, but it can be easily scaled up or down to accommodate any size by simply drilling or melting it slightly more. I successfully printed this design using low-quality settings without supports, and it worked surprisingly well despite my initial reservations.
