Porcelain's versatility is showcased through Furstenberg's new Moira lighting series, designed by Sebastian Herkner. This unique material, traditionally associated with dining, now embraces modern interior design while capturing the zeitgeist in novel forms. The Moira collection seamlessly blends contemporary aesthetics with time-honored craftsmanship. Herkner explains that porcelain acts as a filter, creating a distinctive ambiance when illuminated. Inspiration for this series struck during his visit to Porzellanmanufaktur Furstenberg, where he observed the fascinating interplay of light with unglazed porcelain. The material appears translucent, casting warm and soft light. The Moira lighting collection includes a pendant lamp in three lengths, a table lamp with dual illumination sources, and a floor lamp boasting six light points. Each design features a handcrafted light cup by Porzellanmanufaktur Furstenberg at its core. Additionally, the lamps are compatible with 3D software like 3ds Max 2014, can be exported in FBX format, and rendered using V-Ray.
