These respirator masks are not FDA-approved. Always use an approved respirator, which this is not. We'd rather prescribe proper medical supplies from reputable companies, but that option is dwindling. This is only a Plan B solution. This filtered respiration solution was created in collaboration with our local hospital to provide emergency protection. Requirements included: • A reliable face seal that remains secure even when moving around • HEPA filters for effective air filtration • Easy breathing for physicians • Clear communication without excessive muffling • Simple printing process • Reasonable comfort during extended wear • Large straps for added security and comfort • Feasible deployment from community to hospital in large quantities To complete the full design, additional supplies are needed: We achieved a good seal using larger closed-cell rubber weatherstripping (Glued on with hot glue). The Filtrete HEPA filters continue to meet our requirements (Various sizes, but "True HEPA" style is necessary).
