Bolaven Plateau (Lao PDR / Laos) Topography

This is a topographic model of a region in Southeast Asia known as the Bolaven Plateau, situated in the south of Laos. The model was derived from a digital elevation model (DEM) raster that was modified using QGIS software, an open-source geographic information system platform. A plugin called DEMto3D, which runs on QGIS or Kosmo GIS platforms, enabled conversion from DEM raster format to STL format. The scale of this topographic model is 1:100,000,000. Elevation values are exaggerated by a magnitude of five (5) to emphasize the Bolaven Plateau's large plateau/tableland feature in mainland Southeast Asia.
