The Bofors anti-aircraft gun made in Sweden came out in the late 1920s. Britain and the US both used it on land and water. It's estimated to shoot around 120 rounds a minute for real use. Twin and quad versions were made for naval use. Each 40mm shell weighed 4.8 pounds and was 17.6 inches long overall, and the whole gun is 51 feet long.
