This is a war game piece, directly translated from the Boers, commonly referred to as farmers. They were at war in late 1889 against the British and prior to that, they clashed with the Zulus. A few decades later, they fought alongside Britain against Italy. And only a short time after that, they found themselves battling in Angola against Swapo, backed by the Soviet Union. I joined this army in 1993 for my mandatory military service. With these war heroes, I aimed to contribute to their noble cause.
