The Boeing B-47 Stratojet was a long-range, six-engine jet bomber designed for high-speed, high-altitude flights with its primary mission to deliver nuclear bombs to the Soviet Union. Adapted for other tasks, the B-47B featured external fuel tanks and nose windows (399 were built), while the RB-47E served as a reconnaissance variant. Initial deliveries of the B-47A were evaluation aircraft in 1950.
