This is a highly detailed, low poly model with just under 11K polygons. The model is constructed near to scale using a single sheet of material for seamless continuity. It features retractable landing gear that can be hidden from view, allowing for realistic in-flight animation, including the boom's animated motion. A range of paint schemes are available, including materials used for specific designs as shown here, and the model is offered in 11 different configurations for various operators and USAF variants. The Boeing KC-135E Stratotanker is a cutting-edge military air refueling aircraft, derived from the same pioneering prototype that laid the groundwork for the iconic Boeing 707-130. It marked a groundbreaking milestone as the world's first jet-powered air refueling aircraft, debuting its capabilities within the United States Air Force in 1957. Spanning an incredible almost 60 years of continuous service with the USAF, it has proven to be one of six remarkable military aircraft that have remained in service for over five decades. Though the KC-135E remains a primary air refueling tanker flown by the USAF, its operation is supplemented by the KC-10 and soon will be replaced by the state-of-the-art KC-46 Pegasus.
