Boeing KC-135 Winglet Supercritical Whitcomb Airfoil Micro Drone Propeller (30.72g thrust @3V)
thingiverse
The propeller was designed with the Boeing KC-135 Winglet Supercritical Whitcomb airfoil in mind. Testing was conducted using a Drone Propeller Thrust Testing Jig available online. You can view the results below. A part was printed at a slow speed, utilizing a 0.2mm extruder nozzle at a height of 0.04 per layer. After printing, the propeller was deburred and cleaned with an X-ACTO Knife. Next, it was sanded using a piece of 500 grit sandpaper. The thrust measurements for various voltage presets can be seen below: - At 1.5V, the propeller produced 7.35 grams of thrust. - At 2V, it produced 11.02 grams of thrust. - At 2.5V, it produced 23.24 grams of thrust. - At 3V, it produced 30.72 grams of thrust. The files available for download include all the pictures taken during testing, as well as six text files containing airfoil coordinates, STL files, and SLDPRT files. If you'd like to experiment with the propeller, be sure to have a couple of 8520 coreless motors on hand. To modify the propeller model to suit your needs, use the SLDPRT files provided. Notice: The airfoil was plotted using matplotlib for Python.
