The Boeing B-47 Stratojet is a long-range, six-engine jet bomber capable of high-speed flight at high altitudes. Initially designed to deliver nuclear bombs to the Soviet Union, it was later adapted for multiple missions. The first B-47A evaluation aircraft were delivered in 1950, while the B-47B had external jettisonable tanks and nose windows (399 built). A reconnaissance variant, the RB-47E, also exists.
