This highly efficient two-engine passenger aircraft was created by Boeing as a replacement for ageing 727s in the early '80s. It can carry up to 180 passengers over 5,000 miles nonstop and features a single aisle layout in its middle. The original version, the 757-200, was first used by Eastern Air Lines in 1983.
