The Boeing 747-100 was the first jumbo jet with nearly 500 passengers, debuting in 1969 and entering service in 1970. For 37 years, it held the record for passenger seating until the A380's introduction. The largest passenger jet in the world at the time, the 747-100 was the first of Boeing's 747 family. It had a maximum capacity of 550 passengers in a single class setup and was more than twice as large as the next biggest Boeing transport, the 707-320. With a standard two-class arrangement, it carried 452, and with a three-class configuration, 366 passengers. Introduced around the same time as the DC-10 and L-1011 Tristar, the 747 was larger than its competitors and remained in a class of its own for 37 years. The 747 line has evolved with -200, -300, -400, and latest -800 or -8I versions. Capable of over 5,000 miles cruising range and cruising at over 550 mph at 35,000 feet, the different versions boast improved cruise, payload, and range figures. The model is near-scale, fully textured, and features animateable components like flaps, ailerons, elevators, rudder, landing gear, landing gear doors, and turbines. Available in multiple formats for easy downloading, this 747 model showcases all its textures and materials.
