The Boeing 737 is a twinjet narrow-body airliner developed by Boeing Commercial Airplanes in the United States. First produced as a smaller, cost-efficient alternative to the 707 and 727, it has evolved into a range of ten passenger models with capacities from 85 to 215 passengers. The 737 family is currently still being manufactured, including the Next Generation (-700, -800, and -900ER) and the redesigned and re-engined 737 MAX variants. First flown in 1967, it remains in service with primary users like Southwest Airlines, Ryanair, United Airlines, and American Airlines. As of March 2018, over 10,000 Boeing 737s have been built at a unit cost ranging from US$32M to US$5.2M, depending on the model. The first mass-produced 737 model was the 737-200, which flew with South African Airlink in 2007. Additionally, the Boeing T-43 is a developed variant of the 737.
