The Boeing 717-200 was a variant of McDonnell Douglas MD-95 commercial jetliners following Boeing's acquisition of McDonnell Douglas. Designed for smaller passenger capacity (106-134 passengers), it could accommodate a maximum of 134 based on exit capability. The standard model had a range of 1,430 nautical miles, while the ER version with auxiliary tanks reached 2,060 nautical miles. The Boeing 717 moniker was reused from old KC-135 tankers (model 717-100). In production from 1999 to 2006, the 717 faced reduced sales due to competition from Embraer and Bombardier Regional Jets, ultimately leading to order cancellations and production closure. Powered by 20,000 lbf or 21,000 lbf thrust JT8D-217C or JT8D-219 engines respectively, the Boeing 717 was the last single aisle narrow-body jetliner produced by Boeing.
