The Boeing 717-200 was a variant of the McDonnell Douglas MD-95, produced following Boeing's acquisition of McDonnell Douglas. It had a smaller capacity of 106 to 134 passengers and could accommodate up to 134 passengers based on exit capabilities. The standard version boasted a range of 1430 nautical miles, while the high gross weight variant extended this to 2060 nautical miles with additional auxiliary tanks. The rebranding as Boeing 717 utilized the model number previously assigned to the KC-135 tankers (model 717-100). Manufacturing spanned from 1999 to 2006, but sales were negatively impacted by competition from Embraer and Bombardier Regional Jets, ultimately leading to order cancellations and production closure. Powered by 20,000 lbf or 21,000 lbf thrust JT8D-217C or JT8D-219 engines respectively, the Boeing 717 was the last narrow single-aisle jetliner produced by Boeing.
