However, competition from Embraer and Bombardier Regional Jets led to reduced sales, order cancellations, and eventually, the end of production in 2006. Powered by a pair of 20,000 lbf or 21,000 lbf thrust JT8D-217C or JT8D-219 engines, respectively, this aircraft was the last narrow single-aisle jetliner produced by Boeing.
