Produced after Boeing acquired McDonnell Douglas, the 717-200 had a capacity of 106 to 134 passengers and a range of 1430 nmi in its standard version or 2060 nmi with auxiliary tanks in its high gross weight version. The Boeing 717 was the last narrow single aisle jetliner produced by Boeing until 2006, when production ceased due to competition from Embraer and Bombardier Regional Jets. Powered by 20,000-21,000 lbf thrust JT8D engines, the 717-200's production was ultimately halted due to reduced sales.
