The Boeing 717-200 was a Boeing adaptation of McDonnell Douglas' MD-95 jet commercial airliners following the acquisition by Boeing. Designed with a smaller passenger capacity (106 to 134 passengers) and a standard range of 1430 nautical miles, an ER or high gross weight version boasted auxiliary tanks for an extended range of 2060 nautical miles. The model number was reused from the old KC-135 tankers, numbered Boeing 717-100.
