The model is available in several formats. The Boeing 717-200 was a variant of the MD-95 series produced by Boeing after acquiring McDonnell Douglas. It had seating capacity from 106 to 134 passengers and a standard range of 1,430 nautical miles, extendable to 2,060 nmi with auxiliary tanks on the ER version. The 717 model number was a rebranding from old KC-135 tankers. In production between 1999 and 2006, it faced competition from Embraer and Bombardier Regional Jets, leading to reduced sales and eventual cancellation of orders, ceasing production.
