It was also the first four-engine airliner from Boeing and shared many components with the B-17C bomber. The low drag fuselage, designed for efficient cabin pressurization, measures over 12 feet in width. As a luxurious airliner of its time in 1935, it could cruise at 20,000 feet, minimizing weather delays and flying above adverse conditions. The aircraft carried 33 passengers and required a flight engineer onboard.
