Bodysnatcher Guitar Ornament (Tippi Tree Ornament Contest)
myminifactory
I’ve been watching Devin’s videos for many years now, in fact they’re what initially got me so fascinated in 3D-printing! One of the very earliest I remember seeing was of Devin building the Bodysnatcher, a beautiful 3D-printed body for a beautiful wooden guitar. I thought that if the Tipmas Tree collectively represents all the work from us 3D-printing hobbyists, then the project that got me into the hobby would make the perfect ornament. This Bodysnatcher is pretty close in shape to the original, with a few modifications to make it printable without supports. There’s an assembly guide that details how to put this ornament together, but it's pretty intuitive. The actual guitar piece slaps right onto the body, and snapping the stem into place forms the neck! (I threw in an added “hole” piece that pops into place, but coloring a circle on the body with a black marker will do just as well). Happy printing and Merry Tipmas!
