Body with better support
thingiverse
I encountered some challenges with printing the main body due to several tiny supports required. My issue was that these supports failed to adhere well to the plate as intended in this design, making it impossible for me to add a raft because of my bed plate size limitations. To overcome this hurdle, I added a thin layer in open areas at the same level as the first layer, which served as a base for my supports and worked out better for me. This additional layer is only 0.4 mm thick (what my printer designated as layer 1) and can be easily removed like a support, but might require some sanding on the edges to smooth them out. I didn't alter the overall design of the body, but it now has less chance of dislodging from the plate during printing. If you're facing similar difficulties with printing this large part, hopefully, my solution will be helpful. I've also included the first layer of the original part so that if needed, you can see where to remove the pieces added in my design. Simply print this layer and use it as a guide to identify and remove the supports I created.
