Ampersands never fail to be instantly recognizable, instantly conveying information. The "&" symbol itself has no discernible meaning yet, within certain contexts, it takes on many meanings – business partnerships, joint authorship and much more. In these cases the Ampersand transcends its fundamental meaning. It's simply shorthand for "and", which means "connection", a visual cue connecting individuals, organizations or entities in the real world.
