Bodgie X
thingiverse
This user became frustrated with their initial Arducoper redesign and was instantly drawn to BruceDJones' bodgie design. They also wanted to incorporate FPV functionality, so they redesigned the Aeroquad board mount for an X configuration by moving the arm mounting holes slightly. The Plus configuration is still an option. Despite rushing the lower platform design due to burnout, a GoPro mount was added and plans for an AV transmitter mount were made. The RC receiver is currently rubber-banded to an arm, but a more permanent solution may be explored, such as an upper cage to protect electronics and manage wires. The user has only had one flight, experiencing oscillation with certain battery capacities and needing PID tuning for improved stability. FPV electronics and GoPro use may add extra weight, especially with larger batteries. Aeroquad board assembly and programming are straightforward, but the user initially struggled due to not reading the manual carefully during soldering. Overall assembly is simple, but organizing wires and mounting the battery can be challenging, potentially requiring custom parts. Following BruceDJones' power distribution board instructions or the Aeroquad wiki tutorial is recommended for optimal setup.
