Bobines : supports coniques à roulements || Spools : conic holders with bearings
thingiverse
Hi Guys, When I started my 3D prints experience about a year ago, I quickly discovered that placing a spool directly on an M8 threaded shaft was not the best option. Some friction caused resistance in the filament supply to the extruder. So I designed my first spool holders using bearings, which worked fine initially. However, I used a cylindrical design, and unfortunately, all filament suppliers use their own spools with different inside diameters. Today, after designing and testing them, I'm pleased to share this auto-adaptable design, thanks to its conic external shape: it can hold spools with internal diameters ranging from 47 mm to 60 mm. I hope this time it will cover all spool designs. This design is specifically intended for mounting on an M8 threaded shaft. While it's not a revolutionary concept, as many existing designs use conic-shaped holders, mine incorporates bearings to minimize filament supply efforts. This means that the parameter has little to no effect on 3D print quality. I was fortunate enough to obtain used bearings from an electro-spindle repair workshop, which are perfect for this spool holding function despite being slightly worn. This design is compatible with any '7004' type bearing, and its key dimensions are: Output diameter: 42 mm Internal diameter: 20 mm Width: 12 mm I hope this helps some of you as it did for me.
