Bobbling Wedding Cake
cults3d
This is a bobble-head wedding cake toy. This toy uses a 3D printed base and spring and there is a recess in the base that will hold a 10x3mm magnet. The base is oversized on this model to make it more stable and to allow use without a magnet if desired. The cake prints best right side up, supports are needed (zig-zag worked best for me) and you can use minimal infill (10% is fine). All other parts print with no support. Bobble-Head Assembly Tips: The square spring hole in the cake is slightly large to aid assembly, but you should also clean it up with an Exacto knife to insure clean assembly. Install the spring into the cake first (crazy glue is recommended). Use of the included spring tool is highly recommended as it protects the spring from being damaged. Install the magnet into the base (a snug fit) and then the base onto the spring using pliers to seat the spring in the base (glue is usually not needed). Finally, glue the flower on top to finish it. The cake is based on the nicely done model by tc_fea (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1368557), less one layer and with some functional and dimensional changes. The nice flower on top was created by 4frika (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1440472). And finally, the spring and base used with this are based on the excellent bobble head collection by 3d-printy (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5409630). Enjoy!
