Bobbling StarWars Tie Fighter
thingiverse
This is a bobble-head StarWars Tie Fighter toy. This toy uses a 3D printed spring that supports it and makes it bobble. An oversized base (with 8mm magnet recess) is used with this model to help keep it stable when it is not possible to utilize the magnet. Supports are not required and you can use minimal infill for all parts (10% is fine). This is based on two prints. First is the nicely detailed "TIE Fighter" model by timrbsnow (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1099259). The spring mechanism is based on the excellent bobble head collection designed by 3d-printy (https://www.printables.com/model/224836-emoji-printer-bobbleheads). Be sure to see his extensive collection of bobble-heads and other items. Bobble-Head Assembly Tips: The fighter is printed in two halves so they will need to be glued together. There are two small holes in each half that you can use to align them (this is optional). Use two pieces of 1.75 mm filament 10mm long as alignment pins. Assemble the fighter body, then install the spring into the fighter (crazy glue optional). Finally install the spring onto the base.
