Boat Trailer Winch Handle

Boat Trailer Winch Handle

thingiverse

I have a winch on my boat trailer where the plastic 'sheath' has degraded and broke off due to age. Only thing left is the welded-on steel shaft with a knob on the end. So, I couldn't just print another handle and slide on. This design lets you put the inner parts together and then screw the outer 'sleeve' on to it. Once it's on, it's virtually permanent! Be sure and grease all the parts and test assembly before actual assembly. Based on my winch shaft diameter of .515", with a length of 3.4375" with a .739" x .195" thick 'knob' on the end. 2.2.23 Revisions; added extension to one end of the inner body parts so you can hold onto them while you screw the outer body onto them. Then, just cut or break off the extrusion. Also, printed with carbon-fiber reinforced PETG to make a little tougher. Printed at .15mm layer heights for all pieces. Also, printed with 10 vertical shell perimeters to give the threads and bodies maximum strength.
