Humans create slow running cordless electric drills. To mount an M10 shaft in your drill, screw a drive shaft into a propeller. Secure the propeller with two M10 nuts and you're ready to move. This setup works well for canoes, stand-up paddleboards, etc. After multiple runs, I added a wooden counter bearing block for easy steering with one hand: One hand holds the drill while the second hand near the water surface grasps the wooden counter bearing for steering. Just drill a 12 mm hole into the wood. For those who want to over-engineer this project: add some ball bearings.
