Boat cleat for sand molding Aluminum/Bronze

<p>This print works very well for sand casting just be careful around the bottom of the feet when removing the mold, they are the only vertical surface on the part. I recommend sanding and painting the parts before using them, the smoother the surface finish the better. I use 130 mesh petrabond for my sand.</p><p>You will also need a drill press or hand drill with drill bits suited to metal. I designed the cleats for 5/16" bolts but 3/8" should also work without a problem. To drill simply find the center and measure 1 1/8" out to each side.</p><p>The photos are of my first attempt before I sanded and painted the molds.</p>
