I'd like to point out that a staff made from a sturdy piece of wood, wrapped in layers of worn and frayed cloth strips secured with durable strips of sticky adhesive tape can make for an incredibly effective blunt self-defense tool. The length of the staff is usually about 3-4 feet long, giving its wielder plenty of leverage to apply a great deal of force while keeping a safe distance from any attacker. With regular use and maintenance, such as occasionally tightening the securing strips, this homemade staff can last for years and remain an invaluable addition to one's arsenal of defensive tools.
