BMW S54B32 Inline 6 Cylinder Engine

The pinnacle of motor sports engineering excellence is achieved with the BMW S54B32. For those who may not be familiar, the BMW S54 motor was featured in the E46 M3 (2000-2006), Z3 M Coupe/Convertible (2000-2002), and Z4 M Coupe/Convertible (2006-2008). It's a high-performance engine, engineered for speed, now available for you to replicate. The file includes .STL files for the S54 long block as well as an engine stand. The S54 files are scaled at 100%. Simply scale down the engine parts to suit your build platform's size; I printed at 25% (1:4). The engine stand is also scaled at 1:4, so keep that in mind if you're printing at a larger scale. The total print time on my printer was approximately 60 hours. Compared to other projects, this one is relatively quick. **Minor Update** There's an issue with the photo preview of the cylinder head, but it should still be included in the download or can be found under the "Thing Files" tab and downloaded from there. I've also uploaded an updated engine stand plate that attaches directly to the back of the motor, eliminating the need for fragile arms. **Hardware Required** * 14 M3x22mm bolts for cylinder head * 4 M3x12mm bolts for engine arm * 12 M3x10mm bolts for valve cover * 25 x 0-80 bolts with a 3/16" diameter for oil pan * 10 x 0-80 bolts with a 3/8" diameter for front/rear covers * 10 x 0-80 bolts with a 1/2" diameter for front/rear covers Additional tools needed: * A 0.050" hex key * A 2.5mm hex key * Drill bits: 1/16" for the 0-80 bolts and 1/8" bit for the M3 bolts. Some holes may require cleaning up with a drill bit; standard size bits will work fine. Stay tuned, as I'll be updating this project with headers, original ITBs, airbox, and more. Happy printing!
