BMW M4 (G83) Wind Deflector Plug

Wind deflector inserts for the BMW M4 Convertible (G83). Tab of the insert presses the sensor wire in the slot which allows automatic top operation without the wind deflector installed, which is required for the US model. The car needs both sensors (one on each side) to be triggered otherwise a notification will continually pop up to check the wind deflector installation. The tabs flex enough for this to be a good friction fit without the threaded insert, but PLA may warp in a hot car and the pressure of the sensor switch wire could deform it enough to where the sensor is not triggered, and automatic operation will not work – or if only one side fails, then a notification will pop up about checking the wind deflector installation. There is a hole to hot-fit a 3mm insert for an M3 bolt. As the M3 bolt is screwed in, the head of the bolt slightly expands the tabs to secure the fit. Can also pressure twist an M3 bolt into the hole without an insert, kind of self-threading into the plastic, but I found the threads on a M3 bolt are too tight to self-thread. Use at your own risk. Optional PartsThreaded inserts and M3 bolts. PrintingDuplicate the model in PrusaSlicer and print 2 at the same time. EzPz. Slice your own, the gcode attached has the BondTech estep modification (M92 E415) and 2-up for total print time and weight. Installation
