BMG-M & Mosquito Hotend Cooling Duct (Work In Progress)
thingiverse
UPDATE (6/25/2020): I added turning vanes to the tall portion of the duct because I wasn't sure if they were necessary, but they don't hurt anything. I also created a more defined nozzle for the output openings on the air ducts to help direct the airflow. And lastly, I extended one side of the top of the cooling duct so that it will snap into place with the 5015 fan without needing screws or hot glue. I also added an upright V2 version of the fan duct for proper printing orientation. Original Post (6/23/2020): Here is my first draft of a cooling duct for the BMG-M and Mosquito hot end. I've been searching for something that doesn't take up too much bed space with the 5015 fan location, and also isn't too close to the hot end because previous models I've had melt eventually. The idea behind this design was from the RHD Fan Duct: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4217188 I had been using a modified version of that before with a customized mount and adjusted distances for the cooling end, but wanted to create one that fits my specific setup. I also stepped up to Fusion360 instead of TinkerCAD, which is what I was using. I recommend printing this in PETG because it has higher temperature limits since it's near the hot end. I've done some test prints and had good results, but trust me, this design is not even close to perfect. It does what I need it to do for now as I work on my Fusion360 skills and improve it. I've included the .step files in case someone wants to play around with them. I have the step files with the BMG-M and Mosquito hot end with the cooling duct, and also just the cooling duct .step file. I was able to print it sitting upright (base of cooling duct on bed) without supports. I did use a brim though. Not sure if it's needed, but it's extra insurance that it won't fall over. I'll update this post as I make changes and updates.
