BMG Filament Run Out Sensor

I'm experimenting with a filament runout sensor that preserves the last 30 cm of filament and keeps a low profile. I've been using the BMG extruder arm motion to trigger a switch, which is working out pretty well so far. The goal was to create a system that wouldn't waste any remaining filament when it detects a runout. If you find this idea interesting, let me know. Keep in mind that it only alerts on runouts and doesn't detect jams. I appreciate your feedback.
