BMG Extruder for BLV AM8 with Dual Part Cooling Fans
thingiverse
BMG Extruder for AM8 BLV mod. I wanted dual part cooling fans and thought I would get a BMG style extruder while I was at it. It turned out pretty tightly packed with little room to spare. To install this, you'll need to work in a rough order as things will be covered up along the way. First, place all M3 nuts into their designated spots - they can be tricky to get in and require some pressure. Next, attach the part to the MGNH, then insert the belt, making sure the tensioner is at its lowest setting so you can tighten it using only the tensioner since the belt will be covered up afterwards. The rest of the assembly can go together from here, just keep in mind the cabling - there's a recess for the hotend cable on the right. It's a bit of a hassle getting the wires into place and out the right side where there is a cable tie point, so it's essential to keep the wires tidy. There is space for BL touch wires too, I accidentally did that last and didn't want to take the hotend out again to get the wires hidden. This extruder supports BL Touch, and I've included a spacer that I printed at different Z scaling to get the BL Touch where it needed to be. I will make new fan ducts as I still need to improve on them. My design assumed there was no silicone sock on the hotend, so I realized some air would hit the sock. Two fan duct designs are available - print two of either one, and each side uses the same design.
