BLV MGN CUBE - SFU1204 Z axis
thingiverse
Hi everyone, Just a quick introduction. I've recently purchased the Blurolls 465mm kit and have always been fascinated by Stefan's 3 Axis SFU1204 setup on YouTube. Not because I think it's superior, but I love how it looks. The bed coupling system I plan to use is Yurii's design from the BLV MGN CUBE Facebook group (check out his post dated December 14, 2019). It seemed like the easiest option since it keeps all three Z-Axis identical and uses a single magnetic ball for coupling. I've ordered 2020 profiles to build the bed frame, but you'll need to adjust your dimensions if you're using Hiwin rails. I've also bought four Thomson rails (450mm) with carriages from Thompson Linear very cheaply second-hand ($40). The carriage is large, so I designed the SFU bearing holder to attach directly to it. You can use my initial design for the BF/BK10 holder and adapt it to Hiwin Rails. One complete axis has been printed, and it seems to work well. However, completing my printer will take some time. Check out my make on Thingiverse (link) for more details on changes I plan to implement. CAD assembly from Fusion 360 is available below. Let me know if you have any issues with it, and I can provide different file formats. I've purchased the following items: * Mag-Ball coupling with M4x20 screw * Flat magnets (see Yurii's post) * Some flat round magnets necessary for coupling * SFU-screw/bearing * BF/BK10 * Coupler * M6 screws to fix BF/BK10 to holder * M5 lens head screws from kit to fix holders to frame As others have noted, the top BF10 mount is not essential and can constrain rod movement. I designed it anyway since I think it looks great on paper. Still unsure if I'll actually install it.
