So the only thing I had available for my MGN Cube was either a BLTouch, which doesn't mount to my RADDS (I don't want to remove the 5V jack from my Due), or a capacitive probe, which was giving me inconsistent results and had some weird quirks that I couldn't configure out. So as I'm using a CR-10 glass bed, I decided to go for a mechanical endstop on the Z-axis. After some fiddling around, I came up with the posted design. I'm using a CR-10 heated bed with 40mm M4 screws and a 3mm bed. Remember, what works for me might not work for you, so be careful on the first homing. Installation: I designed the holes undersized so they can be tapped with a screw. I use M3x6 screws; for the US, #4 machine screws should work as well. 6mm long screws are flush with the bottom of the holder and there isn't much space because the carriage needs to clear the mount. The holes aren't lined up properly as the CAD model of the endstop I have doesn't seem to be dimensional accurate, but it works out. Please check your endstop status (M119) before homing for the first time so you don't crash your bed into your nozzle. Printing: Rotate the model -90° on the X axis and print with bed supports for best results. What else: I won't work on this any further as I'm looking into using inductive sensors on the rail columns to home and pivot the bed carriage. I attached the Fusion 360 file in f3d format so you can remix and change it to your liking. Thanks to BLV for his amazing work on his printer!
