Blunt Weaving Needle
thingiverse
My husband actually got me into creating a blunt needle, which was super helpful for teaching our daughter how to weave a rag rug - also known as a knot rug or amish rug. I quickly put together this Open Scad and printed out a few with no problem. The default setting resulted in something roughly the same diameter as a pen or pencil. Since then, my wife gave some away to women in her lunch time crafting group and surprisingly, so far, nobody has asked for their money back. The SCAD file is fully parametric, which means you can easily customize it according to your specific needs. Printing In order to print, it's best to rotate the needle on its side and align the hole facing upwards or downwards. When I printed mine, a 5mm brim helped it stay securely in place without requiring any additional support.
