I scored an awesome vintage National AB-235 solid state radio at a swap meet this spring for $5, and it was just begging to be transformed into a beach-ready Bluetooth radio. The original speaker and its nostalgic charm were still intact, but the electronics needed a serious boost. To give my project some much-needed depth, I designed a new back piece using my trusty 3D printer that added about .325" of extra space. Through holes for the electronics, a 9V battery holder, and an opening for a switch made it perfect for upgrading to a modern sound system. I went with the INSMA TDA7492P Bluetooth amplifier from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/INSMA-TDA7492P-Bluetooth-Amplifier-Amplifiers/dp/B01KFYUVVS), which brought my old radio into the 21st century.
