Hi, I'm a model boat fan from China. You can call me vcbear. I've designed a paddle boat with 3D printed parts. 3D printing saves me a lot of time on part production, so I'd like to share my boat parts with all of you. This is my second prototype because the other ones had some issues when assembled. Just ask if you have any questions. I got the idea to build a paddle boat this year for a workshop organized at Mushroom Cloud. Mushroom Cloud is a well-known makerspace in Shanghai, China. I used Autodesk 2012 and SketchUp 8 for design. My printer was the Overlord from DFRobot. It took around two to three days to print the parts. The hull wasn't printed because it would take too long. In the first prototype, I designed it using Autodesk 2012, exported to a DXF file, and got laser-cut structure parts. The boat is driven by two paddles connected to two TT motors. The power for the motors comes from a 10,000 mAh LiPo mobile power pack from Xiaomi. The MCU of the boat is BLUNO, a Bluetooth 4.0 microcontroller compatible with Arduino Uno. I plugged in a 2A motor shield for paddle control. Using the Bluetooth control app, I can control the boat forward, backward, turn left, and turn right. It's more flexible with the two paddle wheels. Have fun! The official website of DFRobot is http://www.dfrobot.com.
