Bluebird House Version 2
thingiverse
I redesigned the birdhouse to simplify its design and make it easier to print, rather than deleting the original version I simply merged this into a new remix so users can choose which one works best for them. For years, I built these structures out of wood and thought it would be interesting to try creating one using 3D printing technology; the wooden versions are generally larger but hopefully this design will be sufficient for the birds' needs. I optimized the design to accommodate printers like the Ender 3/Pro or larger models. The second groove from the bottom was designed specifically for a piece of wire mesh, and I found that using wire gutter guard purchased at Lowes works exceptionally well; see photos for reference, and I've included a file as a size guide for the wire. I will post images of the finished product once it's printed. Please note that this design is quite long to print, and during my initial test run at .2mm layer thickness with 20% infill, the main box took over 27 hours to complete. If you decide to attempt printing this birdhouse, I'd love for you to share your results in a make post.
