Bluebird House
thingiverse
I used to craft birdhouses out of wood, so I decided to give 3D printing a try, hoping this version would be large enough for our feathered friends. Designed with the Ender 3/Pro and larger printers in mind, the house features a sliding front and bottom section that can be easily removed for cleaning. I plan to print a full-sized version once my blue filament arrives. UPDATE: On February 13th, I installed the birdhouse, and by February 21st, we had spotted a pair of bluebirds going in and out of their new home. A vented design was added on February 27th. A photo from November 27th shows the nest built inside the box I provided. I printed this model using Cura with a .2 mm layer height and no supports. To ensure the bottom section could be printed upright, I used a 15mm raft. The second groove from the bottom accommodates wire mesh; I recommend purchasing gutter guard from Lowe's, as it works exceptionally well. A file has been included for size reference purposes. If you attempt to print this model, please share your results and any modifications you've made.
