COMPONENT DESCRIPTION: Resistor is a passive component used in the circuit to introduce controlled amount of resistance. Resistance is used for many purposes one of the most common is to divide voltage into for instance 5V and 3.3V and to reduce voltage in a serial circuit to protect components such as LED's. They are not polarized, meaning that the orientation in the circuit doesn't matter. They come in large range of sizes commonly from 100 Ohm to 1 Mega Ohm.
